The Award Winning GoSkydive Apprenticeship Scheme

A World-First in Tandem Skydive Instructor Training

The GoSkydive Tandem Skydive Instructor Apprenticeship is the first programme of its kind anywhere in the world. Every rating and licence is accredited by the National Governing Body for Skydiving – British Skydiving – ensuring apprentices graduate with the highest recognised qualifications in the industry.

Created by GoSkydive founder and former British Skydiving director, Gordon Blamire, the scheme was born out of the incredible year-on-year growth of tandem skydiving. While for some, that first jump ignites a lifelong passion for the sport, for most it is a once-in-a-lifetime, life-changing experience. Either way, GoSkydive is committed to delivering it with the very highest standards of safety, professionalism, and customer care.

Customer Experience at the Core

At GoSkydive, exceptional customer service is everything. Our tandem instructors are not only highly qualified, full-time professionals – they’re also experts in guiding people through the full spectrum of emotions that come with a first skydive. From nerves and excitement to elation and pride, instructors must create a calm, supportive environment while delivering a seamless, unforgettable experience. Every moment – from check-in to landing – is part of the skydive journey, and our apprentices learn how to deliver excellence at every stage.

  • Customer Service
  • Business Administration
  • Photography and Video Editing
  • Dropzone (Skydive Centre) Management
  • Operations and Maintenance
  • Skydiving-Specific First Response Training

Alongside this, apprentices complete a comprehensive skydive training pathway, including:

  • Equipment familiarisation and parachute packing
  • All training for your British Skydiving ‘A’ Licence
  • Formation skydiving training so that you can jump with others
  • Advanced parachute handling
  • Freefall camera skills with a focus on preparing you to fly commercially, filming tandem skydives
  • Achievement of the British Skydiving ‘C’ Licence – demonstrating a high level of technical competence

The programme runs for 2+ years, with apprentices developing into highly skilled free-fall photographers and proficient skydivers. Those who excel will be selected to be funded to progress towards achieving their Tandem Instructor Rating – the pinnacle of the programme.
