Who we are

 Youth Cancer Trust is national charity based in Bournemouth set up to support young adults diagnosed and living with a malignant disease such as cancer.

What we do

We provide support and free activity holidays for teenagers and young adults ages 14 to 30 diagnosed and living with cancer or any malignant disease, from the UK and Ireland. The holidays provide an opportunity for peer to peer support in a safe and fun environment away from hospitals and often exhaustive treatment. Being told you have cancer during your formative years is devastating.  Cancer can tear your world apart.  And at an age where everyone else seems to be moving on with their lives – university, early relationships, careers – the diagnosis can bring your life to a halt. The Youth Cancer Trust provides free activity holidays for 250 young people with cancer every year – activities which include horse riding, sailing, water sports and dry slope skiing.  The emphasis is on fun and relaxation.  In fact – the sort of things a teenager would do in normal circumstances.

Why we need you

By supporting the Youth Cancer Trust you can help give our youngsters the chance to improve their quality of life and to meet with others who understand what it’s like to have cancer. Growing up with cancer is rubbish. All you want to do is be ‘normal’ and do what your friends are all doing. We have a wish list of many things we want to get to make these youngsters’ lives even better, by supporting us you can help us achieve our goals.
