Who we are

Woking & Sam Beare Hospices are independent charities dedicated to providing specialised end of life care and support to local people, their families, friends and carers. We aspire to a time when every individual can approach death informed, supported and free of pain; a time when the needs of the individual, and of those close to them, are met with personalised care at the end of life.

What we do

Patients, their families and carers are at the heart of what we do and everything we seek to achieve. We are responsive to individual needs, and a commitment to supporting choice and independence is central to the care we offer. We care for all with compassion, ensuring respect and dignity. We communicate with honesty and sensitivity to enable understanding and choice. Our commitment to continual learning and development in the field of palliative care underpins the high quality of care and expertise for which we have a valued reputation.

Why we need you

We critically rely on the financial support of our local community and we aim to be open in our communications and accountable for our actions. Our running costs are £8.8 million per year, and we rely on donations and fundraising activities to fund our services, which are all given free of charge.
