Who are we
The Elizabeth Foundation is a national charity supporting infants and pre-school children with hearing loss and their families. It helps babies and children with all degrees of hearing loss learn to listen and speak. It does this by providing pre-school education services at its Family Centre, along with help, support and advice for families.
What we do
The Elizabeth Foundation teaches very young deaf children how to listen and speak. We work with babies from 6 weeks of age, toddlers and pre-schoolers, to develop their listening skills to enable them to access language. Once these young children can hear language they can learn to speak – all vital skills to be able to flourish at the school of their choice and to reach their full potential.
Our Family Centre in Portsmouth has over 70 deaf young children attending every week to work with our team of specialist staff in a relaxed, fun group environment. Key to our success is that the children learn and develop in small groups with their deaf peers. Families travel up to 2 hours each way to access our unique services to give their deaf child the very best start in life.
‘Let’s Listen & Talk’ is our home learning programme for families that can’t get to our Portsmouth Family Centre. Over the next year we will have an additional 150+ families working with us across the whole of the UK, through this programme.
Why we need you
We rely entirely on voluntary donations to run our services and receive no ongoing statutory funding to finance our work.
Raising money for your tandem skydive via an online fundraising page makes it quick and simple for your friends and family to support you. You can share the link to your fundraising page via your social media pages and through texts and emails. If you haven't done so already click through now and set-up your page.
fundraising ideasA list of charities that we are partnered with are here for you to select. Some of the charities that we work with have fundraising targets and others are self-funded by yourself, each charity we work with will state if they will contribute to some of your jump cost or if you need to self-fund your own place.
You can book individually or as a group with just a £50 deposit per person on any operational day. Some of the charities we work with have reserved spaces on pre-selected days that you are more than welcome to join.
OK you’re all set – This is now the time to start fundraising for your selected charity, we recommend to set up an online fundraising page as all funds you raise will automatically go to the charity of your choice. Please remember you are unable to use any money raised to pay for your skydive and if you have a target set by the charity you have to hit this 3 weeks before the date of your jump to ensure these funds are online for the charity to see!
Charity not listed? Not a problem...
If your charity is not listed you can still book an independent charity skydive.
