Who we are

LinkAble is a Woking-based charity that has been supporting children and adults with learning disabilities for over 30 years. Our mission is to provide life-long support to people of all ages with learning disabilities, enabling healthy, happy and independent lives.

We enable people with learning disabilities to enjoy activities and experiences they may otherwise struggle to access in the wider community. We support people to learn new skills, form lasting friendships and lead fulfilling independent lives.

LinkAble groups and holiday schemes provide a fun, engaging experience for people with learning disabilities and vital respite for exhausted parents and carers. For many, LinkAble is a lifeline.

We break down barriers within the community by supporting people with learning disabilities to enjoy the same activities as their peers. Activities like dancing, trips out, after-school clubs, weekend activities, holiday schemes and residential trips.

What we do

In our fully accessible centre in Woking, the LinkAble community meets to enjoy activities every day of the week and during holidays. We also run regular day trips across Surrey to ensure that people with learning disabilities are visible in the community and can enjoy a range of experiences. Our highly skilled staff ensure that every one of our service users receives tailored care and activities that meet their individual needs.

We break down barriers within the community by supporting service users to enjoy the same activities as their peers. Activities like dancing, trips out, after-school clubs, weekend activities, holiday schemes and residential trips.

For well over ten years, we have run a club night called Mayhem, specifically for people with learning disabilities, which frequently attracts over 250 adults for a night of dancing, fun and great music.

Why we need your support

We believe that all disabled people should have the same opportunity as their non-disabled peers to learn new skills, make friends and have fun. Your donation can help make this a reality for children and adults in Woking and the surrounding area.

£5 would buy materials to run themed sessions.

Pancake flipping or pumpkin carving anyone? Or perhaps a mask to be a superhero for the day!

£25 would cover the cost of one adult attending a ‘Tasty Days’ cookery session.

Learning about healthy eating whilst making a meal to share with other adults in the group. Tasty Days improves confidence, reduces social isolation and encourages healthy living.

£50 would fund the monthly maintenance of the LinkAble hoist.

It allows staff to safely support and transfer service users with additional health and mobility needs to access our sensory and soft playrooms. Our hoist keeps our sessions inclusive, enabling everyone to access all our facilities.

£100 to £120 can pay for the entry of up to 10 people to local attractions.

To places like soft play, theme parks, adventure farms and outdoor activity centres. LinkAble’s off-site activities offer many of our service users the opportunity to enjoy days out that they may otherwise not be able to enjoy without the support of our specially trained staff.

A list of charities that we are partnered with are here for you to select. Some of the charities that we work with have fundraising targets and others are self-funded by yourself, each charity we work with will state if they will contribute to some of your jump cost or if you need to self-fund your own place.

You can book individually or as a group with just a £50 deposit per person on any operational day. Some of the charities we work with have reserved spaces on pre-selected days that you are more than welcome to join.

OK you’re all set – This is now the time to start fundraising for your selected charity, we recommend to set up an online fundraising page as all funds you raise will automatically go to the charity of your choice. Please remember you are unable to use any money raised to pay for your skydive and if you have a target set by the charity you have to hit this 3 weeks before the date of your jump to ensure these funds are online for the charity to see!

Charity not listed? Not a problem...

If your charity is not listed you can still book an independent charity skydive.
