Who we are:
Enable Ability has been an established charity for 70 years. It works in partnership with disabled children and adults, their families and carers, to provide a range of high quality, inclusive, professional and confidential services across Portsmouth and South East Hampshire.
What we do:
Our services are for children, young people and adults with mild to severe disabilities, and are carefully designed around our users’ and their family’s needs. Projects run during the school holidays, weekends and evenings. Some of our projects include Play schemes, Adult Befriending, Wheelchair Basketball, Sports Clubs and Advocacy. In 2019 we introduced a new Social Enterprise for adults aged 18 years and over, meaning we are now able to support people with disabilities (who might otherwise fall off the Health and Social Care radar), into gaining meaningful employment!
Our aim is to make the lives of children and young adults with a wide spectrum of disabilities SO much better by providing stimulation and motivation to be the best they can be, in a safe and caring environment. At the same time we are providing some respite for their families and carers who can spend time with siblings and others in a less stressful way. The feedback we get from families really tell that we are doing something special.
Why we need you:
Our services need people like you so that we can ensure we are able to continue our vital work within the community!
From being able to provide a day’s support to a disabled adult through our befriending service, to being able to purchase essential equipment (a specially adapted sports wheelchair costs approximately £1000), every single amount of monies raised benefits the children and young people who use our services.
Raising money for your tandem skydive via an online fundraising page makes it quick and simple for your friends and family to support you. You can share the link to your fundraising page via your social media pages and through texts and emails. If you haven't done so already click through now and set-up your page.
fundraising ideasA list of charities that we are partnered with are here for you to select. Some of the charities that we work with have fundraising targets and others are self-funded by yourself, each charity we work with will state if they will contribute to some of your jump cost or if you need to self-fund your own place.
You can book individually or as a group with just a £50 deposit per person on any operational day. Some of the charities we work with have reserved spaces on pre-selected days that you are more than welcome to join.
OK you’re all set – This is now the time to start fundraising for your selected charity, we recommend to set up an online fundraising page as all funds you raise will automatically go to the charity of your choice. Please remember you are unable to use any money raised to pay for your skydive and if you have a target set by the charity you have to hit this 3 weeks before the date of your jump to ensure these funds are online for the charity to see!
Charity not listed? Not a problem...
If your charity is not listed you can still book an independent charity skydive.
