Who we are: Birmingham Community Healthcare (BCHC) Charity is the official charity for BCHC NHS Foundation Trust. BCHC Charity exists to enhance care and provide extras for 130 different BCHC clinical services, including; adult community services such as district nursing, continence and diabetes; urgent adult care bedded units including patients with dementia and those in end of life care; children & families services such as health visiting, palliative care and school nursing; dental care services within Birmingham Dental Hospital and the Community Dental Services; rehabilitation services including patients who have suffered a stroke, brain injury, or require support with posture/mobility, and Learning Disability services.

What we do: BCHC Charity’s mission is to enrich patient experience and improve their time within the care of BCHC services by funding the extras that are not covered by the core NHS funds. These extras are the sorts of things that bring a smile to our patients and their families and carers, and can range from smaller items like books, toys and toiletries all the way up to large projects like our therapeutic playground for children with prosthetic limbs.

BCHC Charity are committed to supporting BCHC staff and their patients and service users in any way that we can, whether that’s through supplying extra equipment, enhancing indoor and outdoor environments, providing entertainment or funding research projects. We’ve renovated garden areas, funded beautiful murals, thrown festive parties with food and gifts, provided sensory lighting spaces, entertained patients with music, magic and days out, and lots more besides!

Why we need you: To be able to continue in our mission to support Team BCHC, we need adventurous folks like you to really brave it for BCHC! Here are just a few of the ways your skydive fundraising could help support those accessing care within NHS community services in Birmingham:

  • £5 could provide an activity for a patient accessing our Learning Disabilities respite and residential services
  • £20 could fund a Bereavement Memory Box for someone whose loved one has passed away
  • £50 could pay for a live music session for inpatients at our community hospitals
  • £100 could help take 5 children with life-limiting conditions on a day trip

Your support can really help make a difference to patients of all ages by providing extras that can help reduce anxiety, enhance care, and improve patient experience across Birmingham.

A list of charities that we are partnered with are here for you to select. Some of the charities that we work with have fundraising targets and others are self-funded by yourself, each charity we work with will state if they will contribute to some of your jump cost or if you need to self-fund your own place.

You can book individually or as a group with just a £50 deposit per person on any operational day. Some of the charities we work with have reserved spaces on pre-selected days that you are more than welcome to join.

OK you’re all set – This is now the time to start fundraising for your selected charity, we recommend to set up an online fundraising page as all funds you raise will automatically go to the charity of your choice. Please remember you are unable to use any money raised to pay for your skydive and if you have a target set by the charity you have to hit this 3 weeks before the date of your jump to ensure these funds are online for the charity to see!
